Good premise but deeply flawed
I have been playing this game for several months and think it has
considerable promise. But it is deeply flawed with a very unbalanced
approach to game play. You can be attacked repeatedly by much stronger
players and lose all of your resources. I have been attacked upwards of
14-16 times per day. When I complain to Zynga about this they say I
should improve my defences. But when you lose everything you have every
night that is very difficult. Also the Alliance War feature matches you
against other alliances that are several times more powerful. You have
no chance right from the start. Zynga is aware of these issues but does
nothing. I started an alliance with 45 active members but people are
getting very frustrated and leaving the game. Great concept but very
poor execution by Zynga.
Unbalanced game play and a bad attitude of the game support
I downloaded this game because I love playing strategy. At the very
beginning, I found this game interesting and called my friends to play.
We have even joined an alliance to play together.
Very quickly, however, we found a big flaw in this game. Players of low headquarter levels can be frequently and repeatedly attacked by those of higher levels for multiple times within hours. Eventually you lose every resources and it is impossible to upgrade your base before the next attack. I wrote to zynga and asked them to set a balanced match and a safe window between attacks such that the play can be fair and players have time to recover or upgrade. Their response, however, is that you can buy gold to upgrade, and then they block my email.

Loved the game, but now hate it.
I have played the game for many months. Initially enjoyed the game
play, and what it presented. Once Zynga implemented mandatory league
play, it ruined the game. I complained about the disadvantages you face
in league play, since there is zero option to opt out. I have been stuck
at level 13 for two months. I cannot build my defenses or elevate my
units defensive or offensive capabilities because of league play. I am
continually attacked by opponents 2-4 levels higher than myself, and
they take all my resources that takes hours and days to build up. The
only way I could buildup is to spend hundreds of dollars buying in game
credit to pay for upgrades, but that is exactly what they want you to
do.
